Pauley Ltd delivered works to restore key buildings on Bedford High Street, including the Goldings building, as part of the High Street Heritage Action Zone scheme. The project brought historic façades back to life with conservation-led detailing and new commercial units to strengthen the local economy.

“As you may have seen the former Goldings building on Bedford High Street has been restored to its former glory as part of the High Street Heritage Action Zone restoration programme. The scaffolding has come down to reveal brilliant gold lettering and the iconic Goldings logo painted on the building.
The restoration looks fantastic and is just one part of the many exciting plans we have for our town centre. We will contine to deliver more building restorations as well as the regeneration project on Midland Road. We have already delivered the fantastic Riverside development, Allhallows regeneration and new wider pavements here on the High Street.
Meanwhile, we are continuing discussions with property owners about the future of the former Beales and Debenhams sites to bring together plans for an exciting new town centre offer.
We are ambitious for Bedford Borough, including the town centre, and I’m excited for what the future holds.”
